Arsenal’s odds of signing Bordeaux winger Malcom have been significantly slashed.
Arsenal were priced at 11/1 by SkyBet to sign the attacker just a few days ago.
However, a report in the Daily Mail claims that Tottenham, who were also interested in signing Malcom, have pulled out of the race to focus on other targets.
That leaves the way clear for Arsenal to sign the £45m-rated attacker as Alexis Sanchez continues to be linked with a move away from the Emirates.
Arsenal’s odds have been cut massively after the news, and are now priced at just 7/4 with SkyBet to sign the Brazilian.
Malcom is said by the Daily Mail to be one of the “hottest properties in Europe” and has enjoyed a solid season with Bordeaux, scoring seven goals in 18 league appearances, and adding four assists.
Football Insider verdict:
It looks like Sanchez is definitely on his way out of the club and after months of speculation and a slow start to the season, Arsenal fans will probably be glad to see him go. Malcom would be a fine replacement and with Tottenham stepping aside it looks like the path is clear for Arsene Wenger to swoop in and steal his signature. It might be too late for a title run this season, but top-four must now be a priority. The bad news is that it’s going to take more than just Malcom’s signature this January to seal a Champions League spot for Arsenal.
