Tottenham are joined by Premier League rivals Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Brighton in hunting a potential transfer swoop for Stevenage youngster Ben Wilmot, according to a report.
ESPN FC claim on their website that the five top flight sides have all been keeping a close eye on the progress of the 18-year-old defender during his time with the League Two side, and were all said to be in attendance at the club’s FA Cup clash against Reading last weekend.
The report states that while the four giants of English football are all impressed with what they have seen from the hot prospect, it has been Brighton who have made an official approach, with multiple bids for his services reportedly turned down by Stevenage.
Despite the attention of Premier League sides, Wilmot is yet to make his league debut for his current club, with just four cup appearances under his belt.

It appears as though the Seagulls have tried to steal a march over their more illustrious rivals in trying to secure the youngster’s signing, but to no avail. Whether that prompts one of the big boys to make an official move awaits to be seen, but once one moves, then it can be expected a bidding war will ignite. Will Spurs come out on top? Mauricio Pochettino has established a reputation of developing some of the best young English talent and having the Argentine boss at the helm is a major draw for Tottenha,. Liverpool could pose a serious threat to their chances, while Chelsea and Arsenal rival Spurs in offering a club in London. Money really will not be a problem for the clubs, which means it could well come down to Wilmot’s personal preference.
