Leeds faint play-off hopes were delivered a shattering blow last night as they were beaten 3-0 at the Riverside by a Middlesbrough team looking for a top-six spot themselves.

And Leeds fans were shocked to see one of their players, Adam Forshaw, laughing and joking with the opposition after the game.

A hat-trick from Patrick Bamford came without answer from Paul Heckingbottom's men on a freezing Friday night.

The match only got the go-ahead at lunchtime and travelling fans must have been wishing it had been postponed on the way back.

When the teams were announced the Leeds fans were puzzled about the decision to leave Forshaw out of the side.

The midfielder has been one of Leeds' strongest players since his January move from Middlesbrough – and his knowledge of the Riverside would have given him an advantage over his teammates.

However, at full time, the Leeds fans were fuming with their new man.

He'd come on at half-time and been unable to alter the course of the game.

But fans spotted him laughing with his former teammates when the final whistle went and that rubbed them up the wrong way.
