The north London club made the short journey south to Craven Cottage for the FA Cup fifth round tie.
A hat-trick from star forward Harry Kane inspired the victory for Tottenham and Ardiles was clearly jubilant on social media afterwards.
Posting on his personal Twitter account, the former midfielder, who played for Spurs for 10 years between 1978 and 1988 shared that he felt Mauricio Pochettino’s team could now go all the way to Wembley.

Tottenham are just one win away from a semi-final tie at Wembley and it is certainly looking obtainable with Premier League giants Liverpool and Everton among many other top flight sides to have been knocked out of the competition this campaign.
However, in a season where Spurs would have had goals of winning the Premier League as well as going far in the Champions League before the campaign’s start, this season may still be seen as a disappointment.
But, fans will certainly embrace another day out at Wembley and many will be keen to see their team life a trophy that they haven’t done since 1991.
In other Tottenham news, Steve Clardige believes this Spurs star can take the team to the next level on his own.
