Pau Torres could sign for Tottenham as part of Giovani Lo Celso swap - deal 'likely' says expert

Tottenham could agree a swap deal with Villarreal that would see Pau Torres swap places with Giovani Lo Celso.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Lo Celso, 26, won the player of the match award as Villarreal beat Bayern Munich 1-0 in the Champions League on Wednesday (6 April).

This site revealed on 22 March that Tottenham are keeping tabs on Villarreal star Torres, 25, ahead of the summer window.

A recruitment source has claimed Torres is once again on the radar of Spurs and Conte after they failed with a move last summer (2021).

According to Wenham, there is no purchase clause in Lo Celso’s deal but he claims a swap deal could still be agreed.

“I think Villarreal are likely to agree a deal for Lo Celso. They actually have several players who are of interest to Tottenham,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“There is no clause in that deal but Fabio Paratici likes a swap deal so I’m sure we could work something out there.

“There is previous interest in Pau Torres, he is someone who we have looked at before.

“Danjuma is in great form and they have a good young talent in Yeremi.

“That is definitely an option we could take.”

Lo Celso has made 11 appearances since joining the Spanish side on loan in January.

He scored one goal and assisted twice but failed to complete a 90-minute match in the Premier League in the first half of the campaign.
