Pedraza sends Twitter message to Leeds fans after birthday win v Preston
By Will Butcher
Alfonso Pedraza has thanked fans for their continued support on Twitter after Leeds secured a 3-0 win against Preston the day before his birthday.
The 20-year-old winger was in good form from the left flank in just his sixth start for the Yorkshire giants, as Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez and Souleymane Doukara scored.
Celebrating his birthday on Sunday, Pedraza claimed on his personal Twitter account that the three points was “the best gift” to receive as Leeds consolidated their play-off position.
The best gift for a birthday is the 3 points achieved yesterday! Thank you all for the messages and the day to day support ???????? pic.twitter.com/YdzfJGB7We

Pedraza was the only player of Leeds’ attacking foursome that remained on the pitch for the entire 90 minutes, as Kemar Roofe, Chris Wood and Pablo Hernandez were all taken off early.
Roofe opened the scoring with just his third Leeds goal of the season, as he played a one-two with Wood before bundling the ball past goalkeeper Chris Maxwell.

Leeds doubled the lead before half-time, as Roofe turned provider to play a superb ball through to Hernandez, before the four-time Spain international slid the ball home.
Substitute Doukara rounded off the victory with a superb solo run and finish from out wide, slotting inside Maxwell’s near post to round off a good day at the office for Garry Monk’s men.
Leeds next face second-placed Newcastle in their hunt for promotion at St. James’ Park on Friday night, as they look to avoid a repeat of the 2-0 defeat at Elland Road earlier this season.
