Phillips: Leeds would accept £13m bid for Costa after key transfer update
Leeds United would find it hard to reject a £13million offer for Helder Costa this summer.
That’s according to former Sunderland man Kevin Phillips, speaking exclusively to Football Insider about Costa’s Leeds future.
Last week, this site revealed that Leeds are willing to listen to offers for their attacker this summer as the club looks to raise transfer funds to improve other areas of their squad.
Costa, 27, has only started 10 of Leeds’ Premier League games this season with the form of Raphinha and Jack Harrison keeping him out of the side.
Leeds don’t expect to recoup the £15million they paid for Costa in the summer of 2020 and Phillips claims he could be picked up for as little as £10million.
“I don’t think they’ll be a million miles away but to get £15million, I think they’ll do well,” Phillips told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs.

“It hasn’t quite worked out for Helder at Leeds has it? He’s shown glimpses of what he can bring but he hasn’t been consistent enough.
“For me, they could get between £10million and £13million and that would be an offer that Leeds would find hard to turn down.”
Costa has picked up two goals and three assists on his limited league outings this season with his last goal proving to be a consolation as Leeds lost 4-2 to Arsenal.
After making regular appearances off the bench in recent weeks, Costa was an unused substitute for Leeds’ last game as they beat Fulham 2-1 at Craven Cottage.
