Kevin Phillips insists Pascal Struijk should replace Virgil van Dijk in the Holland squad after an impressive season with Leeds United.
The Sunderland legend, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed he would be surprised if the young defender, 21, wasn’t at this summer’s Euros.

Struijk, 21, is yet to be called up for a national side and could play for either Holland or Belgium.
However, he has represented the Oranje at youth level.
Phillips claims Struijk has to be called up this summer after facing some of the best strikers in the world this season.
“I would be surprised if he’s not given a chance,” Phillips told Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs.
“He’s playing for Leeds, he’s flying. He’s played and stood up to some of the best strikers in the world.
“It’s great news for Liverpool because he’ll be back and ready for next season. But I would be very surprised if Struijk wasn’t handed that opportunity.
“If you perform in the Premier League for a side that’s flying, you have to play for your country.
“Let’s hope that he does this summer.”
Struijk has started 22 Premier League games for Leeds during his first season as a first team player.
The defender joined Leeds as a youth player in 2018.
