Phillips wowed by Celtic dealmakers after source update on 'bargain' Juranovic
Kevin Phillips insists Legia Warsaw defender Josip Juranovic will play second fiddle to Anthony Ralston at Celtic once he signs.
The Sunderland legend, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the latest Hoops transfer news.
On Friday (20th August), a Celtic source told Football Insider that Juranovic, 26, is set to put pen to paper on a contract.
The defender was in Glasgow on Friday for a medical after the clubs agreed a £2.6million fee.
Anthony Ralston is Celtic’s only registered right-back and they want cover and competition for him despite his impressive start to the campaign.
The 22-year-old earned more plaudits for his display against AZ Alkmaar on Wednesday night.

Phillips insists Juranovic will have to work hard to dispalce the new Celtic star.
“Ralston has played really well,” Phillips told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“This guy is coming in to challenge him, to make sure he doesn’t get complacent.
“If Celtic can get him at how much, £2.6milllion, that’s peanuts. I mean, wow, that’s a bargain.
“If the player also wants to come it’s almost a no brainer. He has to know he has to challenge for his place.
“I can’t imagine he will start straight away but he’s joining a club that’s are on fire.
“It makes sense, most managers want two players for every position.
“They are scoring a lot of goals but there will come a point where the goals will stop and clean sheets will be important.
“It’s an area of the pitch that needs to be strengthened.”
Juranovic should be fully fit and raring to go after already making nine appearances this season.
That includes Champions League qualifier matches as well as two starts in the Polish top division.
