Arsene Wenger is a long-term admirer of Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso and keen on securing a summer move, according to a report.
The Mirror claims Arsenal would have to part with £30million+ to secure the 22-year-old, and beat off competition from their north London Rivals Tottenham.
The French midfielder is also being courted by Arsenal’s North London rivals Tottenham according to French sports newspaper L’Equipe.
Italian giants Juventus are also said to be interested in the one-time France international.
Tolisso is ready to quit his club this summer with one eye on 2018 World Cup selection.
He has been in superb form for Bruno Genesio’s side this term, scoring 14 goals in 46 league and cup games, as well as providing six assists.
Football Insider verdict
Tolisso is a highly sought after signature, and the North London clubs look to be going head-to-head in the race to sign him. Tolisso is a goal scoring midfielder, and a creative spark as well. He would arguably fit into the Gunners line up better, given his range of passing and his penchant to burst forward. Mauricio Pochettino has preferred to employ more defensive central midfielders this year, but he will not give up the chase too easily, and may even attempt to drive the price up.
