Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has claimed that midfield star Mousa Dembele has talents in comparison to the likes of footballing legends Ronaldinho and Diego Maradona.
The Belgian midfielder has come under immense praise from fans and pundits alike in recent weeks for his starring performances at the heart of Spurs’ midfield, dominating the opposition in results such as the victory over Arsenal and the draw with Juventus.
His impressive displays have not escaped the attentions of his manager either, who has given the 30-year-old a rave review when discussing his abilities.
Speaking to the press, as quoted on the personal Twitter account of journalist Ben Pearce, Pochettino said: “I told you he was a genius, and for me he’s this type of player.
“I’ve told you, I put him next to Ronaldinho, Maradona, Okocha – players I’ve been lucky enough to play with. For me hes one of the unbelievable talents in the history of football.”

Naming him alongside Ronaldinho, Maradona and Jay-Jay Okacha is a massive compliment from the Spurs manager, with the trio often named as three of the very best players in the history of football, all being named by Brazilian legend Pele on his FIFA 100 list of the most talented players.
Dembele has made 28 appearances for Tottenham this season, with an ankle injury sidelining him for no less than six games earlier in the campaign, and he has a total of 225 outings under his belt for Spurs, having scored 10 goals across all competitions.
