Pontus Jansson posts amusing Twitter message after Leeds win v Burton

By Danny Wright

Pontus Jansson has likened Leeds United’s continued run of clean sheets to building a brick wall after Saturday’s emphatic 5-0 win over Burton at Elland Road.

Pierre-Michel Lasogga bagged a brace with goals from Kalvin Phillips, Pablo Hernandez and Kemar Roofe sandwiched between his strikes which capped an impressive debut from the German forward.

Leeds fan favourite Jansson was also on form as he formed a key part in a solid rearguard that has now gone five Championship fixtures without conceding a single goal.

The towering Swede took to his personal Twitter account after Saturday’s game to give his humorous view on how the backline is defending lately.

“Brick by brick, game by game,” he said.

Jansson is widely seen as one of the key reasons as to why Leeds have done so well over the last year after he originally arrived on loan last summer from Torino before making his stay in Yorkshire permanent.

After missing the first two games of the 2017/18 campaign through suspension, Jansson has made five appearances and has amazingly not seen an opponent score against him in that time.

Leeds’ battering of Burton propelled them up to second place in the Championship standings as they kept their unbeaten run going.

Thomas Christensen’s men are now two points behind Cardiff, who lost their 100 per cent record at Fulham on Saturday with a draw.
