Postecoglou handed 'great' Rogic boost after Celtic presser reveal - McLeish
Alex McLeish has insisted Tom Rogic’s presence at Celtic will be a big boost for Ange Postecoglou.
The former Scotland boss, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested the 28-year-old would be a “comforting” figure for the new manager.
Speaking at his first press conference last week, Postecoglou admitted Rogic knew him “better than anyone in that dressing room” after working together with the Australian national side.
He revealed he wanted to make the attacking midfielder a key part of his squad.
McLeish suggested having Rogic at Parkhead would be a major boost for the newly-appointed boss.
Asked what sort of difference it made for a manager when they know players at their new club, McLeish told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “That is a great start for him.

“Tom is maybe getting towards the older, experienced type of player now. He didn’t play so much in the last couple of years as we were used to seeing him play.
“He was a prolific scorer in cup finals and league championship deciders over the past few years.
In Rogic, he gets a close friend and I guy I’m sure he knows very, very well. That will be very comforting for the manager and indeed for Tom, if he’s going to stay on at Celtic, as well.
“By all accounts, it sounds like he is.”
Rogic played 31 times for Celtic during the 2020/21 campaign.
Of his 46 international caps for Australia, 26 came during Postecoglou’s time in charge.
