Postecoglou tipped to give Celtic outcast Bolingoli second chance after Instagram post

Alan Hutton has tipped Ange Postecoglou to give Boli Bolingoli a second chance at Celtic.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Scotland defender insisted the Bhoys currently have a “problem” at left-back.

Bolingoli has returned to Celtic after his loan spell at Istanbul Basaksehir and took to his personal Instagram account to post pictures of him back in training.

Bolingoli was shipped out to Turkey last year after breaching lockdown regulations.

He took an unauthorised trip to Spain and returned to training without telling the club.

Hutton admitted Bolingoli had breached the trust of both the management and his teammates.

However, he suggested the defender could get a second chance at Parkhead.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “He did break the trust but I think the team spirit and everything is very close.

“They’re a close-knit group, no matter what club you’re at, and of course they’ll welcome him back.

“He knows he made a mistake, he apologised for it is, he’s had to move away on loan but he’s back this season.

“They’ve got a problem, I think, at left-back. They’ve only got Taylor. I know they’re interested in the likes of Aaron Hickey but Laxalt’s away, Bolingoli comes back, Taylor’s there.

“There is an opportunity for him there if he wants it. I think he falls in the same category as Ntcham – where’s your head at? This is an opportunity for the manager to assess all these players away at one time.

“I think that’s why everyone’s went because he’ll get to know them real quickly. Their standard of training, what they bring to the table, if they’re ready to fight and be part of the team.

“If not, I’m sure Postecoglou will be able a see that quickly. If they’re not up for it, he’ll move them on.”
