Postecoglou 'will not be given time' at Celtic amid director of football reveal
Kevin Campbell has stressed the importance of Ange Postecoglou having “a good working relationship” with the new Celtic director of football.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker claimed recruitment will be key if Postecoglou is to prove his doubters wrong and succeed at Parkhead.
Celtic confirmed the appointment of the 55-year-old manager earlier this month on a 12-month rolling contract.
Speaking to the Glasgow Times (25 June), Postecoglou addressed the idea of a director football being appointed and said he is keen to “surround himself with the best people”.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Postecoglou’s comments, Campbell said:
“It is vital that he has a good working relationship with the new sporting director.
“They are starting snookered, let’s be honest, because the fans are losing faith with what is going on.
“The proof is in the pudding though, as we know too well. If they start winning then the fans will get behind the project very quickly.
“To do that, the recruitment will have to be right and that is why it’s so important that Postecoglou has a good relationship with the director of football.
“If Postecoglou does not get off to a good start though things could turn pear-shaped very quickly. He will not be given time.”
