Premier League club join Leeds in chase for 29-year-old - report
By Harvey Byrne
Premier League side Burnley have joined Leeds in the chase for ex-midfielder Jonny Howson, according to a report.
News outlet HITC have claimed that the Clarets are hoping to win the race for the Norwich 29-year-old with the Whites also looking to bring him back to Elland Road.
It is detailed that Sean Dyche’s club have already made an enquiry for Howson, who the Canaries are reluctantly willing to listen to offers for.
The East Anglia-based club have already let a number of their senior players leave this summer as they look to cut down the wage bill following their relegation from the Premier League in 2016.
Howson could now be another to go through the Norwich exit doors, as he enters the final two years of his deal at the club.

Leeds have long been linked to the Morley-born midfielder, who broke through the Leeds academy and played for the first team between 2006 and 2012.
He was a star of the Whites’ team before moving to Norwich and competed in 219 matches for the club.
Howson has since taken his form with him to the Canaries and last season alone he featured 39 times for the club in all competitions, scoring six goals while also providing eight.
Football Insider verdict:
Howson is a very talented player and one that Leeds should certainly be considering given his history with the club. However, Burnley’s interest could mean that a return is unrealistic. At this late stage of his career Howson is not going to get many more opportunities to play at the highest level. Additionally, the situation at Leeds is far from certain given that the club currently does not have a manager and there is no saying how that will impact the team in the next campaign. Therefore, this reported interest could spell the end for Leeds’ reported interest in their ex-star.
In other Leeds transfer news, Huddersfield have been installed the favourites to sign this Whites star.
