Coventry City are keeping tabs on Birmingham City forward Jay Stansfield in the final weeks of the window, sources have told Football Insider.

Stansfield, 23, is attracting interest from several Premier League clubs ahead of the new season.

Sources say Birmingham are willing to listen to offers for Stansfield before the window shuts in early September.

He registered 10 goals and seven assists in 44 Championship appearances for the Blues last term.

That came after he fired them to the second tier with 19 strikes in 37 League One matches following a high-profile £15million move from Fulham.

Coventry are the latest top-flight club to show an interest in the England youth striker after they were promoted as champions under Frank Lampard.

The 23-year-old would command a hefty fee, but Birmingham are open to offers with just over three weeks until the summer window closes.

Jay Stansfield attracting Coventry interest after impressing for Birmingham

Stansfield made his name on loan at Exeter City in the 2022-23 campaign as he registered nine goals and eight assists in 39 appearances.

His strong form saw Birmingham broker a loan deal for the following season, and he impressed with 12 league goals despite their relegation from the Championship.

Their decision to fork out big money to land him permanently paid off as Chris Davies' side then broke various records to return to the second tier.

He has continued to impress in the Championship and could now make the step up to the Premier League with the Sky Blues.

Lampard is yet to bolster his striker options this summer, with Ellis Simms, Haji Wright and Brandon Thomas-Asante each vying to start the season as his main frontman in the PL.

Which other PL clubs are keen on Stansfield?

Stansfield featured in four top flight games during his time at Fulham, but is yet to become a regular in the division at 23-years-old.

His all-round game is clearly an attractive prospect for Premier League sides, after he ranked highly for expected goals, big chances created and possession won in the final third per 90 when compared to other strikers.

Sources have exclusively told Football Insider that Ipswich and Hull are both also interested in Stansfield as it stands.

Everton and Sunderland have also kept tabs on his progress, as revealed by Football Insider.
