Tottenham Hotspur’s relegation fears have been laid bare after the club have extended their deadline for season ticket renewals.
Spurs have endured another disappointing campaign in the Premier League as they find themselves once again at the wrong end of the table.
Tottenham lost 3-1 against Crystal Palace in their latest Premier League outing last week, ensuring they have now gone 11 games without a league win.
Igor Tudor is already under pressure after losing all four of his matches in charge since replacing Thomas Frank following the 5-2 defeat against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday (10 March).
Tottenham sit 16th in the Premier League, just one point above third-bottom West Ham and 17th-place Nottingham Forest after 29 games.
Why Tottenham have extended season ticket deadline
It was revealed last month Tottenham have frozen their season ticket prices for the 2026-27 campaign following consultation with supporters' groups.
It comes despite several of their Premier League rivals increasing their rates as they look to boost their matchday revenue.
However, Spurs’ recent performances have made it difficult for the club to hike their prices ahead of next season.
In a new development, The Athletic reported on Thursday (12 March) Tottenham have extended the window for supporters to renew their season tickets due to the threat of relegation.
In an email sent to season ticket holders, the club said: “We recognise the seriousness of the current league position of our men’s team and, following discussions with our Fan Advisory Board and the Tottenham Hotspur Supporters’ Trust, can confirm the renewal window for 2026-27 will now remain open for an extended period until Sunday 7 June to ensure fans have full clarity on next season before renewing.”
That move suggests Tottenham chiefs are deeply concerned about the threat of relegation and the prospect of filling their 62,850-capacity stadium, whether that’s in the Premier League or Championship next season.
The north London giants’ most expensive adult season ticket costs £2,367, while the cheapest is £856.
Tottenham fans told to back players amid relegation fears
Tottenham have given their fans very little to shout about following their dismal home form this season.
Spurs have the joint-worst home record in the Premier League alongside Burnley, having won just two of their 15 matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
However, former Everton CEO Keith Wyness told Football Insider Tottenham’s fans must get behind the players if they are to pull themselves out of trouble.
There has been speculation Tudor could be sacked following his poor start to life in north London, but club chiefs are yet to pull the trigger.
Tottenham’s next fixture sees them take on Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday (15 March).
