Proven PL performer hands in transfer request after £15m West Ham bid - reliable journalist
By Danny Wright
Stoke attacker Marko Arnautovic handed in a transfer request at the Bet365 Stadium last week, according to a reliable journalist.
The Telegraph’s Midlands correspondent John Percy claimed on his personal Twitter account on Monday that West Ham had lodged a £15million bid for the 28-year-old three weeks ago, which has since led the player to attempt to force a move away from the Potteries.
It is understood that Stoke are “expecting” a better offer for the 62-times Austria international, who has proven himself to be a capable Premier League performer in his four-year long spell in Staffordshire.

Arnautovic signed for the Potters in 2013 after previously having mixed spells with Werder Bremen, Inter Milan, FC Twente and Rapid Wien.
He has played 125 times in the Premier League with Stoke, and arguably had his best season for the club last time out as he scored six goals and supplied five assists in 32 league appearances.

West Ham are without doubt short of attacking options and their poor outing in the 2016/17 campaign was arguably down to a lack of fire power in front of goal.
Arnautovic can play on both wings or as a striker, which is a position that caused many problems to Slaven Bilic last term due to injuries to both Andy Carroll and Diafra Sakho.
Football Insider Verdict
Arnautovic is certainly better than some of the players that Bilic already has on his books and £15million would have been a very good price to snap him up at. However he is perhaps one of Stoke’s key players and they are unlikely to be willing to let him go on the cheap. Arnautovic supplies and scores a steady amount of goals and would be a better option than Andre Ayew, Robert Snodgrass and Sofiane Feghouli, who all flopped miserably in their debut campaigns at the London Stadium. Bilic has to be on the lookout for an out-and-out striker too, because Arnautovic performs a lot better when he’s on the wing and able to cut inside.
