Pundit 'amazed' by Harrison after 'brilliant' Leeds reveal
Jack Harrison’s “amazing” hat-trick marked the return of his “clinical edge” at Leeds United, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Whites striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 25-year-old is a “brilliant player”.
Harrison netted all three goals as Leeds United defeated West Ham 3-2 at the London Stadium yesterday (16 January) to move nine points clear of relegation danger.
As per LUFCDATA post-match, the ex-Man City winger also won two tackles and five duels, as well as creating two chances for Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
Whelan heaped praise on Harrison’s “workman-like” display, as well as hailing the Englishman’s “quality and composure”.
“It was amazing to see, wow,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.

“It was vital that we had somebody on song, who was capable of putting the ball in the back of the net.
“We saw last week in the FA Cup that the opportunities fell to him but he couldn’t quite convert them into goals.
“Yesterday he was always at the right place at the right time and showing that quality and composure.
“He’s a brilliant player, we know that. If you look at last season and the quality of goals he scored, we knew he had that clinical edge in his game.
“It wasn’t just the goals either, it was the workman-like performance and energy he brought, and he thoroughly deserved to get the goals.
“I think the last one just capped it off – the composure to pull off that little dink just shows what goals can do to a player.”
Leeds United sit 15th in the Premier League after winning their last two top-flight games.
The Whites face 19th-place Newcastle on Saturday.
