Pundit: 'Amazing' Tottenham news may convince Kane to stay - 'It's like a new signing'
Alan Hutton has claimed Heung-min Son’s new contract could help Tottenham keep Harry Kane from leaving this summer.
The former Spurs defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted tying the 29-year-old down was “like a new signing” for Spurs.
Spurs confirmed last week (July 23rd) Son has penned a new four-year deal in north London.
The South Korean international’s old terms were set to expire in 2023.
Hutton admitted Kane’s future was still the biggest dilemma for Spurs this summer.
However, he suggested Son’s new deal may help convince the striker to stay.

Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge: “It’s like a new signing, give him what he wants.
“Daniel Levy, open your chequebook and what does he want? Because he’s that important.
“The bigger question is will Harry Kane stay, will he leave? Son, you have to keep because if Kane left and Son wanted to go, there’s a real problem there.
“Those two were the real reason Tottenham were where they were last season. I don’t want to say Tottenham did so well because they didn’t. If they weren’t playing, Tottenham would have really struggled.
“Absolute no brainer, give him what he wants, keep him there because you know what he’s going to give you. He’s going to give you an eight, nine or ten out of ten every week.
“It was important they signed him down to a new deal. They’re probably hoping keeping the likes of Son, getting Dele Alli back to his best, hopefully Kane would say: ‘Right we’re moving in the right direction.’
“I think it shows a good sign. Ultimately for Tottenham, it’s an amazing signing. It’s probably like having a new signing.”
