Lo Celso is not 'trusted' at Tottenham after what pundit has seen
Noel Whelan has claimed Nuno Espirito Santo cannot trust Giovani Lo Celso despite impressing for Tottenham against NS Mura on Thursday.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Leeds striker insisted the 26-year-old now has to deliver the same quality in the Premier League as he did against the Slovenians.
Lo Celso scored and assisted as he played the full 90 minutes in the 5-1 victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
They were his first notable attacking contributions in seven appearances for Spurs.
Whelan insisted Lo Celso has proved his ability in “flashes” for the Lilywhites.
However, he admitted the midfielder still cannot be trusted in the Premier League.

“He was the one that came in to replace (Christian) Eriksen,” Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.
“He was that next player that was going to be the generation of that midfield. We talk about consistency, we talk about getting up to speed with the Premier League.
“He’s struggled to do that at times. We’ve seen flashes but that’s not enough. Flashes aren’t enough when you’ve brought a player in with the capabilities that he has.
“It’s another frustrating one. You know the quality and the ability that this player has but you need to see in the Premier League. That is where it counts.
“Maybe he needs a run of games. He needs to show he can be trusted by the manager and put in there. He’s not at the moment.
“When he is, he needs to deliver. Goals and assists in Europe, fantastic. He needs to take that into Premier League performances.”
Lo Celso has scored eight goals and contributed five assists in 72 appearances for Spurs to date.
