Pundit Exclusive: Arsenal may hijack signing of £23m attacker after Romano reveal

Arsenal could hijack Dominik Szoboszlai's £20million-plus imminent move to RB Leipzig.

That is according to former Gunners striker Kevin Campbell, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs about the prospect of the 20-year-old arriving at Emirates Stadium.

Fabrizio Romano reported last Friday that the Hungary international was closing in on a move to Bundesliga side RB Leipzig despite interest from Arsenal and AC Milan.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on Szoboszlai's apparent snub of the Gunners, Campbell said:

"Let's be brutally honest, we are still an attractive club to join but we are in a difficult position right now.

"The Arsenal move might be one move too soon for him. Going to Leipzig could be a smoother transition for him because Arsenal are having some difficulties.

"If he goes there and plays well then the Arsenal move is a bigger money move. It could potentially still happen. He could come to the Premier League as a bigger money move.

"Szoboszlai will have looked at his situation in a detailed way and even though we are in the Premier League, Leipzig may have been the best move for him right now."
