Gabriel Agbonlahor has tipped Leeds United midfielder Mateusz Klich to replace the injured Rodrigo Moreno against Everton on Wednesday night.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Aston Villa and England striker delivered his verdict after Leeds' club-record signing, 29, was forced off after just 21 minutes against Leicester City last weekend.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa confirmed in his press conference on Monday the Spain international had been sent for a scan on his groin to assess the extent of the injury.

Rodrigo then took to Instagram to explain the injury was a “minor setback” and he was working hard to be back soon.

After being dropped to the bench against Newcastle in the previous game, Klich replaced the attacker early on in the first half at the King Power Stadium and produced a good display.

He finished the game with a 70 per cent pass accuracy and two key passes, according to sofascore.

The Poland international's best moment of the game came late on when he played a perfectly weighted ball through to Patrick Bamford who then squared it for Jack Harrison who finished into an empty net as Leeds secured a 3-1 win.

“I think there’s every opportunity he could start,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider.

“They’ve not got many options, Leeds. You know who Leeds are always going to play.

“So I’m sure Klich will come back in. Maybe he just needed that rest, he’s played a lot of football so needed that rest.”

Klich was dropped from that side against Newcastle United last Tuesday - just the second league game he had not started since Bielsa took over at Elland Road.

He has scored twice and provided five assists in 20 Premier League games this season.
