Pundit Exclusive: Mourinho tipped to bin Tottenham star 'If the rumours are true'
Jose Mourinho will be looking at getting Serge Aurier out of Tottenham after his reported behaviour against Liverpool on Thursday night.
The former Premier League striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, believes the Ivorian defender has shown himself to be a “bad egg” and insisted he should not be kept around the squad in north London.
The Telegraph claim Aurier walked out of the Tottenham Hotspur stadium at half-time against Liverpool after being substituted off by Mourinho.
The Reds, who led 1-0 after the first 45 minutes, went on to seal a 3-1 victory against the Lilywhites.
Whelan has insisted Aurier has shown himself to be a toxic character in north London and suggested it was only a matter of time before he was sold.
Whelan told Football Insider: “We know there’s been fractious times between Aurier and Mourinho, we know that he’s been on the cards for a transfer anyway. I think this has just sealed it for him if the rumours are true.

“Everyone has been hooked at half time and whether you like it or not, or how disappointed or angry you may be, that is not the solution.
“You’ve got to put it down to that he obviously doesn’t want to be at the club, he doesn’t want to support his teammates, he doesn’t want to support the manager’s decision. You can’t have bad eggs like that at the club.”
Aurier arrived at Spurs from PSG for a reported £23million back in 2017 and has been linked with a move away in recent windows.
He is now one game away from making his 100th appearance for Tottenham, 16 of which have come this season.
