Pundit Exclusive: 'World-class' Liverpool target may already have move lined up
Danny Mills is adamant Bayern Munich defender David Alaba already has a move lined up amid interest from Liverpool.
The former England international, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Dylan Childs, suggested that the 28-year-old is likely to sign a pre-contract with a “top club” in January.
Alaba, who is out of contract next summer, rejected Bayern Munich’s latest offer of a new deal and looks set to leave the Allianz Arena in 2021.
Football Insider revealed last Wednesday that the Austria international is a potential target for the Reds after star defender Virgil van Dijk suffered an ACL injury.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have fielded inexperienced centre-halves Rhys Williams and Nathaniel Phillips while Joel Matip, Fabinho and van Dijk have been sidelined.
When asked by Football Insider if Alaba would be a welcome addition at Anfield, Mills said: “I think Liverpool will be looking.

“It would be very difficult to win the title and challenge for the Champions League with a very inexperienced back four.
“I am sure a lot of the top clubs will be looking at Alaba.
“He can sign a pre-contract in January and I would be very, very surprised if he does not have something lined up already because he is world class. A player of that ability, that class, that pedigree will not wait for an auction come the end of the season.
“If he has not signed a new contract there is obviously a reason. I would suggest something is pencilled in. He will have a good idea of where he is going.”
