Pundit issues 'agents' claim after major update on Sadio Mane's Liverpool future
Sadio Mane’s agent is “stirring things up” as Liverpool may have put negotiations over a new contract “on hold”, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Man City and England full-back suggested Mane and his camp may be offended if Liverpool are focusing on securing Mohamed Salah to a new contract.
Sky Germany reported this week (10 May) that Bayern Munich are interested in the 30-year-old and their sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has met his agent.
Both he and Salah are set to enter the final 12 months of their Liverpool contracts this summer but the club want to keep hold of both of them.
“I think this is probably agents stirring things up a little bit, to get things moving a little bit and get an offer on the table,” Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“We know that Mo Salah also hasn’t signed his contract yet, so maybe he isn’t quite happy with it. Sadio Mane’s contract might have been put on hold while that’s being dealt with first and he feels a little bit put out.

“There are all sorts of politics and things that go on in football. If Liverpool want to keep him they will put in a good offer, if he doesn’t want to sign it then he’ll walk away. It’s as simple as that.
“Contract negotiations in these sorts of situations are all a game of poker. It’s all about brinkmanship and who is going to break first.”
Mane has been Liverpool’s go-to man in recent weeks and he has found the net eight times in his last 10 starts across all competitions.
The Senegal international 27 goal contributions in 48 appearances across all competitions this term.
