Pundit issues 'massive' Ndombele transfer claim after £25m Tottenham update
Tottenham will be happy to “cut their losses” on Tanguy Ndombele this month, according to Noel Whelan.
The former Leeds striker, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted there will be no complaints at Spurs if the 25-year-old departs in the winter window.
According to Calciomercato (2 January), Roma are targeting Ndombele in their bid for a new midfielder and could make a loan offer for the Tottenham ace this month.
The report claims the north London side value the France international at £25million.
Ndombele has made just one league start since Antonio Conte took the reins at Tottenham in November.
When asked if Spurs would be willing to take a financial hit on the midfielder to sell him this month, Whelan told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury: “Yeah, absolutely.

“There are quite a few clubs with these disgruntled players on the books and managers who are unhappy with their players. And top players, at that – the likes of Lukaku, Aubameyang, and Ndombele.
“You just can’t have these negative attitudes in your dressing room. It’s all about getting the right balance and togetherness – it’s massive.
“It’d be best for Tottenham to cut their losses, 100%. Three managers have tried and failed with Ndombele, they’ve all come out with the same conclusion.
“The manager and Tottenham fans will feel there’s more to come from him in terms of work rate and attitude. However, I don’t think anyone will complain if he leaves in this window.”
Ndombele has failed to live up to his potential since his reported club-record £55million move to Tottenham in 2019.
Football Insider revealed last month (8 December) that Juventus are interested in signing the midfielder.
In other news, talks have been held ahead of another major Tottenham exit.
