Paul Robinson has slammed Wolves defender Nathan Collins after he was sent off for a high challenge on Man City midfielder Jack Grealish.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Spurs and England goalkeeper said "it is ridiculous" that Collins, 21, protested to the referee after the incident.

As pictured by BT Sport (17 September), Collins was shown a straight red after a chest-high challenge on Grealish.

Referee Anthony Taylor was in no doubt and VAR official Darren England did not deem there to have been a clear and obvious error from his colleague.

Collins made significant protests to the referee before eventually walking down the tunnel.

Grealish was booed by the large sections of the Molineux crowd thereafter.

When asked by Football Insider for his thoughts on the incident, Robinson said: "The Wolves fans were going to use any excuse to boo Grealish.

"They felt that he got one of their own sent off.

"It is not even a debatable one. It was a definite red card.

"I do not know how anyone can complain about it. It is ridiculous. The player protested far too long.

"It went on through the game with the fans booing Grealish but it was as solid a red as you are going to see this season.

"I don't know what Collins was thinking. There was no need to make a tackle on that part of the pitch."
