Pundit: Leeds set for 'massive' Rodrigo boost after what I've seen in person
Alan Hutton has insisted Rodrigo Moreno’s confidence has been given a “massive” boost after finding the goal trail at Leeds United in recent weeks.
The former Scotland defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insisted the 30-year-old finally looks as though he can fill the void left by the injured Patrick Bamford.
The Spaniard netted his second goal in two games against Norwich with a long-range effort that squirmed under Tim Krul.
Rodrigo broke his duck for the season with a penalty in added time in the 1-1 draw with Wolves.
The 2020 signing has taken on the striker’s mantle for the last five Premier League games after Bamford was sidelined by an ankle injury.
Hutton, who was at Carrow Road to watch Leeds’ 2-1 win in person, admitted there was significant pressure on Rodrigo’s shoulders.

He suggested the two goals would be a major lift for the hitman.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “Confidence is massive when you’re playing at the top end of the pitch.
“I think when your main striker, if you want, is injured and you have to take that mantle on or that role, it can be difficult. It brings a lot of pressure.
“But I think he’s a very talented football player. It’s always going to take you time to adapt.
“Scoring the goals that he has done, I think that will help him massively, especially in the coming weeks if Bamford is going to be out for a period of time.
“He looks like a guy who can take that role on and really run with it. His confidence levels are obviously peaking after his goals.”
