Pundit makes Ndombele claim as Tottenham work on beating West Ham to 'sensational' Lingard
Jesse Lingard is a “sensational” player but there may not be room for him in the Tottenham starting XI, according to Danny Mills.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds United and England right-back insisted Spurs are “heavily loaded” in the attacking positions.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 10 July Nuno Espirito Santo wants Jesse Lingard as one of two Man United stars in a £100million cash-plus-players exchange for Harry Kane.
A source has updated to tell Football Insider that West Ham fear Tottenham can blow them out of the water in the race for Lingard’s signature.
The England international scored nine goals and provided five assists in 16 games for the Hammers on loan last season.
Asked whether he could find the same form in north London, Mills told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley: “It depends on what the manager wants and the way he’s going to play.

“You’ve got [Tanguy] Ndombele, [Heung-min] Son, Lucas Moura and [Steven] Bergwin all in those forward positions. They’re quite heavily loaded in those positions already.
“Do they really need another play in that position? I guess it depends on how Nuno wants to play and how he would fit into that system.
“He’s a fabulous player, we know that. What he showed last season at West Ham was sensational. It doesn’t surprise me that teams are entering the race for him.
“It’s just about what team is best for him and what system is best for him.”
Lingard has 12 months left to run on his Man Utd contract.
He last played for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side in the Premier League at the end of the 2019-20 campaign.
