Pundit suggests more Aston Villa signings are on the way after Purslow reveal
Noel Whelan has insisted Aston Villa are in a “really healthy position” to seal more signings following Jack Grealish’s exit.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Leeds man suggested all parties would be happy with how the move has come about.
Jack Grealish signed a six-year deal with Manchester City on Thursday (August 5th) after his release clause with Villa was met.
Villa chief Christian Purslow confirmed City had triggered a £100 million fee – a new British transfer record.
Aston Villa themselves have been big spenders in this summer’s transfer window.
In June they completed the club-record capture of Emi Buendia from Norwich City.

They have also completed deals for Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey and Southampton talisman Danny Ings.
Whelan suggested there could be even more recruitment on the horizon for the Midlands giants.
Whelan told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “He’s leaving them in a really healthy position.
“I’m sure there’s no animosity between player and club, like we’re seeing at the minute with Harry Kane.
“The £100million can now go towards recruiting, strengthening, and filling the void.
“There’s no reason why the players coming in – like Buendia, one of the best players in the Championship last season – cannot fit straight into that role.
“Looking at Danny Ings and Leon Bailey, these signings wouldn’t have been possible without the sale of Jack Grealish.
“Most fans will certainly be keeping an eye on how Jack is doing. I don’t think that anyone can grumble at the comments which have come out from the club.”
