Radrizzani posts Twitter message as Leeds score 96th-minute equaliser v Newcastle
By Will Butcher
Andrea Radrizzani has heaped praise on Garry Monk’s Leeds as they defied the odds to score a 96th-minute equaliser against Newcastle.
Leeds had gone 1-0 down thanks to Toon captain Jamaal Lascelles, who bundled the ball past Rob Green from close range midway through the second half.
However, with the Toon close to confirming three points, Wood got on the end of a Kemar Roofe cross to score his 28th goal of the season in all competitions.
Co-owner Radrizzani posted on his personal Twitter account, lauding Wood for his impact and urging his side to “keep fighting” in their pursuit for promotion.

Leeds came under constant pressure throughout the match at St. James’ Park on Friday evening, as Rob Green, Pontus Jansson and Kyle Bartley shined at the back.

The trio put their bodies on the line to block a number of shots, crosses and anything that threatened the Leeds goal, giving Monk’s side a chance of an equaliser.
Wood, who had not scored in his previous three displays, was isolated throughout the match but got his name on the score sheet with a fine volley after a good cross from Roofe.
The point keeps Leeds in touch in the top six, extending the gap between themselves and seventh place to three points.
The former Champions League side go up against Wolves next time out at Elland Road, as they look to continue their pursuit of a first return to the Premier League in 13 years.
