Radu Dragusin: Everton can take advantage of latest transfer news to sign Tottenham outcast

Radu Dragusin could be set to push for a move away from Tottenham this summer, with Everton among the clubs keen on central defenders.

The Toffees are in need of reinforcement at the back after Jarrad Branthwaite suffered yet another hamstring injury.

James Tarkowski and Michael Keane have covered the 23-year-old well this season, but both defenders are 33 and at increased risk of suffering injury themselves.

Dragusin has struggled to get into the Tottenham team since the arrival of Roberto De Zerbi at the end of March, appearing in just two Premier League games.

Everton transfer chiefs will now have identified a serious chance to sign the 24-year-old, with minutes only set to become rarer for him.

Marcos Senesi arrival to force Radu Dragusin out

Former chief executive Keith Wyness exclusively told Football Insider in April that Senesi would bolster Everton’s defence, if they could pull off a deal for the free agent.

The 29-year-old played a major part for Bournemouth this season as they secured European football for the first time in their history, and he has attracted interest from many sources.

It now appears that a decision on his next club has been made, however, and the Argentine will not be heading to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Various sources reported on Friday that Senesi is set to sign a four-year contract with Tottenham, after they narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League on the final day.

The centre-back joins a squad that already includes Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Dragusin and Kevin Danso, while Luka Vuskovic, Ashley Phillips and Kota Takai are also due to return from their loans.

With Dragusin having appeared for just two minutes under De Zerbi, the likelihood of a summer transfer appears to be rising rapidly.

How much would Dragusin cost Everton?

Tottenham hold the upper hand in negotiations for Dragusin, considering that the player is under contract until 2030.

The Lilywhites spent around £25million to sign the defender from Genoa in 2024, but his time in North London has been affected massively by injury.

Just over a year after his arrival, the 24-year-old tore his ACL and only returned in December. With that in mind, Tottenham are unlikely to hold him hostage this summer.

Should Dragusin be surplus to requirements, Everton should be in the conversation and can likely expect to pay a similar fee to the one that saw the Romanian arrive in London.
