Rangers ‘bracing’ for Nicolas Raskin offers as Danny Rohl’s one-more-year plan revealed
Rangers are expecting to field strong interest in midfielder Nicolas Raskin once again this summer, sources have told Football Insider.
The Belgian has been an influential figure in the recent upturn in form for Danny Rohl’s side, and the Gers are “bracing themselves” for offers to come in for him at the end of the season.
The 25-year-old is expected to attract plenty of interest from clubs across Europe, with sources indicating that Rangers may not even be totally protected if they secure Champions League football.
However, Rohl and Co. are not ready to give up their star man without a fight, and they are determined to try and get at least one more season out of him at Ibrox, ahead of his contract expiring in 2028.
The progress that has been made on the pitch this season is intended to be built upon for next term, and as a result, Rangers are keen to avoid losing any of their key players this summer.

Rohl has overseen a drastic turnaround after a dismal start to the season under Russell Martin, and the Scottish Premiership title is now firmly within reach heading into the league split.
However, club chiefs are keen to ensure that this is only the beginning for the current squad, and next season is likely to bring its own set of challenges with the prospect of Champions League football potentially on the horizon.

Raskin’s influence in recent years has seen him amass transfer interest from everywhere from the Premier League to Turkey, but Rangers have worked hard to resist a sale up to now.
They are fully expecting to have their resolve tested once again ahead of next term, but Rohl has a clear plan in mind for the former Standard Liege man.
Raskin is wanted as a central figure at Ibrox for 2026-27, which would take him towards the final year of his contract if a sale could be avoided.
Rohl’s intention is to convince the midfielder that he should commit one more year to the cause, but the situation would then undoubtedly be revisited at the end of the next campaign.
Raskin fits in with new plan for Rangers squad
Football Insider revealed last weekend that Rangers want their squad to get younger next season, and they are set to align their summer recruitment strategy with that goal.
Three of their four new arrivals during the January window were aged 22 or younger, and that is expected to continue this summer.
The Ibrox outfit want talented starlets who they have a strong chance of being able to develop and then sell for big money later down the line.
Raskin may be an established member of the squad already, but the club hierarchy are aware that he also fits into that category, as he is likely to fetch a significant fee whenever he does move on.
