The SPFL have announced that Rangers defender Declan John and Celtic attacker Callum McGregor have both been named in the team of their week for their heroics last week.
John scored a brace as Pedro Caixinha’s side romped to a 4-1 victory at Hamilton’s SuperSeal Stadium last Friday before the Hoops surprisingly dropped points at home against Hibernian.
If it wasn’t for a Callum McGregor brace, Brendan Rodgers’ men would have perhaps gone into the international break having lost their unbeaten run in domestic competitions while the Northern Irishman has been in charge.
John McGinn, who was also in the team of the week, also netted a double at Parkhead on Saturday as Hibernian drew 2-2 with the Bhoys.
The SPFL posted the team of the week on their official Twitter account on Tuesday.

John was named in the left midfield slot in the XI despite being a traditional full-back.
His attacking talent was very much on display though on Friday as he helped the Gers get back to winning ways after losing to Celtic in the Old Firm derby just a week before.
McGregor’s top form has recently earned him a call up to the Scotland international squad following injuries to Matt Ritchie and Scott Brown.
The Scottish attacker is likely to earn his maiden cap for the Tartan Army as they look to qualify for the 2018 World Cup play-off spots by beating both Slovenia and Slovakia in the coming days.
