Rangers could accept £20m+ bid for Emmanuel Fernandez: ‘Massive fee’
Rangers are set to demand at least £20million for key man Emmanuel Fernandez this summer as numerous Premier League clubs eye a move for his services.
Fernandez was voted into the Scottish Premiership Team of the Season on Friday, as he was recognised by his fellow professionals for his strong debut campaign at Ibrox.
It took him some time to break into the Gers’ starting eleven after joining from Peterborough, but he has been a regular starter at centre-back under Danny Rohl and is now one of their most important players.
Some top English clubs are keeping tabs on his progress, but as I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, they will have to splash out over £20m to prise him from Ibrox.
Rangers’ transfer plans are set to be dictated by whether they clinch Champions League football, which could also play a part in Fernandez’s future at the club.

Sources told Football Insider last month that West Ham are interested in Fernandez ahead of the summer window, while Arsenal have also been linked with a move for his services.
It remains to be seen if either club are open to spending over £20m on the 24-year-old, given that he is yet to play European football and has completed one senior season at top flight level.

Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “It would take a massive fee, think, as well for Rangers to even consider letting Fernandez go.
“They got him for around three and a half million from Peterborough last season. They’ll be looking for well in excess of that, probably 20 plus million, for Fernandez in this current market.
“They will try and do everything they can to keep hold of him, and they feel that, if they can offer Champions League football, that will be their best chance of keeping Fernandez for next season.”
Rangers braced for Nicolas Raskin offers amid PL interest
Raskin is another Rangers star who is currently attracting interest from the English top flight, after the likes of Tottenham and Leeds were linked to his services in the January window.
Rangers are set to receive offers for Raskin this summer, according to Football Insider’s sources, but they remain keen to keep hold of him too.
The Belgian international may well be forced to push for a move away from Ibrox this summer if he wants to leave, but Rangers’ Champions League fortunes are again set to play a part in how much they can demand for his signature.
