Rangers could sanction Glen Kamara exit on one condition after manager's reveal - pundit

Frank McAvennie has suggested recent Rangers signings could spark Glen Kamara’s exit if they “hit the ground running”.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Celtic striker has been impressed by the arrivals at Ibrox this summer.

Speaking to Sky Sports after their pre-season victory against West Ham (20 July), Giovanni van Bronckhorst said he is hopeful of holding onto Kamara, 26, despite interest from Europe.

The manager added that he hopes the Finland international will stay at Ibrox “for many years”.

Kamara has three years remaining on his contract with the Gers.

When asked by Football Insider for his assessment of Kamara’s future, McAvennie said: “I don’t know whether they’d let him leave or not.

I didn’t think they’d let [Joe] Aribo leave. I think Aribo was probably one of their best players.

It goes back to the fact that they’re bringing good players in. They’ve got players that are there and it’s whether they can hit the ground running.

Some of these players, they’ll do alright at Ibrox until they have to play away from home. The fact that they’ve got to win every single game, and Rangers fans demand that they win. Certain players love that pressure, I loved it.

Depending what these players are like, whether or not they can handle it. A draw is a catastrophe for Celtic and Rangers, and it’s the end of the world if you get beat. I didn’t think Rangers would bring these players in but fair play to them.”
