'There should be riots', 'Big loss' - Rangers fans react as first teamer reportedly rejects deal

Bates has forced his way into being a mainstay in the starting XI after replacing Bruno Alves in the Old Firm clash on December 30th.
The former Raith Rovers defender is out of contract in the summer and the Gers were hoping to secure his future after impressing since coming back into the side.
Fans want to see Bates taken out the side while talks go on – with one saying the hoped the report were true as the defender isn’t “Rangers class.”
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:

The 21-year-old joined the Gers in 2016, initially on loan, from Raith Rovers and impressed enough to win a permanent move to Ibrox.
After making the breakthrough towards the end of last season, Bates had remained on the fringes of the first-team this season before Alves’ injury opened an opportunity for the Kirkcaldy-born star.
