Josh Windass predicted he would score a hat-trick for Rangers to teammate Jamie Barjonas in a WhatsApp chat ahead of his dazzling three-goal salvo against Hamilton on Sunday.
The midfielder shared a screengrab on his personal Twitter account on Sunday night of his chat with Barjonas in the build-up to the match where he told him he would “probably score three” at the Superseal Stadium.
Windass subsequently walked away from his side’s 5-3 win with the match ball after putting three past hapless Gary Woods in the Hamilton goal.
Windass posted a screengrab of his chat with Rangers youngster Barjonas where he wrote ‘probs score 3’.
After Barjonas told him he would be disappointed if he did not, the former Accrington attacking midfielder replied with two peeking eye emojis as he tagged the youngster on Twitter.

Football Insider verdict:
Windass’ youthful cockiness is likely a key weapon on his armoury, but it also explains why he can be made a scapegoat when things do not go the way of the player and the team. The 24-year-old is currently in the form of his life, nine goals from five goals, including two hat-tricks. If he can continue that sort of golden sequence, Rangers fans won’t give two hoots what he boasts about on social media and will welcome the sharing of more more brilliant WhatsApp exchanges.
