Rangers fans destroy 22-year-old for showing no passion during draw against Celtic

By Amir Mir

Barrie McKay was substituted in the second half as Rangers secured a 1-1 draw against Celtic on Sunday afternoon – and fans on Twitter have destroyed their player for his display.

Many believe that the 22-year-old simply didn’t show enough passion or desire during the game as he watched his team pick up a late point at Parkhead.

Winger McKay lost the ball on many occasions and failed to provide any attacking threat out wide for his team.

Stand in coach, Graeme Murty eventually substituted the youngster after 59 minutes for Josh Windass, but that didn’t stop his fans from having a go at him.

During that match, many wanted him substituted at the break because they felt he was embarrassing their side.

Stuart Armstrong opened the scoring for the home team before Clint Hill netted a late equaliser for the blue half of Glasgow.

Nonetheless, supporters felt that McKay was scared of getting the ball as the Gers ended a three-game losing streak against their rivals.

The Hoops are set to win the SPL title in record fashion as they remain unbeaten this season, having dropped points on only two occasions.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Right-winger McKay has played 37 games in all competitions for the Gers this season, scoring four goals and supplying 11 assists.

He has played 27 Scottish Premiership matches for the club, finding the back of the net on three occasions, while also providing four assists.

In other Rangers news, this duo are 4 out of ten during the draw against Celtic.
