Rangers fans on Twitter have blasted manager Pedro Caixinha’s decision to include attacker Martyn Waghorn in the line-up against Celtic on Saturday afternoon.

The 27-year-old has struggled to hit form in the Premiership this season with a return of just six goals and five assists from 27 league outings.

Additionally, many slammed the forward’s display in last weekend’s 2-0 defeat against the Hoops in the Scottish Cup semi-final.

Now, fans are disappointed that he has once again been included in the starting line-up to take on Brendan Rodgers’ team with many believing he is not good enough.

A number of supporters on social media were keen to point out that they’d rather have youngster Barrie McKay playing in his position, while others stated this afternoon’s clash was his final chance to impress in a Rangers shirt.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Waghorn was instrumental in Rangers’ Championship winning campaign last season with a stunning 20 goals scored from 25 league outings.

However, he has struggled to recapture that form in the top-flight this time around under both Mark Warburton and Pedro Caixinha.

His contract is also set to reach it’s final year in May, meaning he could be heading for the Gers exit doors if his poor form continues.
