Rangers have held preliminary talks with West Brom rising star Rayhaan Tulloch, Football Insider can reveal.

The forward, who turned 19 this week, is out of contract at the Hawthorns next summer and is wanted by leading European clubs.

Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that Rangers are in contact with representatives of Tulloch as they work on a deal that would see him head north of the border at the end of the season.

This comes after Football Insider revealed last month that the Glasgow giants had joined the hunt for Tulloch amid rival interest from Olympique Marseille and RB Leipzig.

West Brom do not want to lose the versatile forward, who can play down the middle as the attack spearhead or on both flanks.

But the Championship leaders are vulnerable as Tulloch’s first professional contract, signed back in March 2018, expires in June.

Tulloch made the third of his West Brom first-team appearances as a substitute in their 1-0 FA Cup win against Charlton Athletic earlier this month.

He has been in prolific form for the Baggies’ Under-23s this season, scoring five goals and providing two assists from 11 Premier League 2 matches.

West Brom have already lost highly rated young forwards Louie Barry and Morgan Rodgers over the last six months and do not want Tulloch to follow.

Rangers have had great success in prising young talent from English clubs in recent years, with Joe Aribo, Glenn Middleton and Nathan Young-Coombes all heading north of the border.

In other Rangers news, it can be REVEALED that an Ibrox senior star is close to agreeing pre-contract with English club after outstanding opening half to campaign.
