Rangers are in pole position to beat English clubs to the signing of Motherwell attacker Jake Hastie, Football Insider understands.

Fir Park manager Stephen Robinson has admitted the winger, 20, is certain to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.

A club source has told Football Insider there is interest in Hastie from multiple clubs south of the border as well as Glasgow giants Rangers.

The Light Blues have tabled an offer to the Motherwell academy product and have already agreed the terms of a four-year contract.

Hastie has other offers on the table, but has indicated his willingness to make the move to Ibrox and tie up the formalities of the deal ahead of the summer transfer window.

The young attacker has made a big impact for Robinson’s side, netting seven goals in 13 games, with six of those strikes coming in league fixtures.

The Scotland Under-21 international spent the first half of the season on loan at Alloa Athletic in the Scottish Championship, where he was far less prolific than he has been for his parent club.
