Multiple English clubs are lining up to sign Rangers winger Glenn Middleton on loan next season, Football Insider has been told.
The winger, 20, is likely to be loaned out again by the Light Blues after spells in the 2019-20 season at Bradford City and Hibernian.
Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that the club are aware of strong interest from lower league English clubs in the rising star.
He is likely to move to a League One or League Two side again next season after showing encouraging signs at Bradford before the March lockdown.
Steven Gerrard and his coaching staff believe Middleton would be best served by a full campaign at another EFL team in 2020-21.
They regard the youngster as capable of establishing himself in the Rangers first team in the future, but he needs more senior experience under his belt.
Born in Glasgow, Middleton came through the youth ranks at Northampton Town and Norwich City before eventually returning home to join Rangers in 2018.
He was handed his competitive debut by Steven Gerrard later that year and has already played 28 times for Rangers, scoring five times and providing five assists.
Ex-Rangers defender Alan Hutton admits he was excited by Middleton when he first broke onto the scene and believes he has a lot to offer.
Hutton told Football Insider: “He broke through and I think everyone was excited – the pace, the power he had.
“He’s got the attributes and he could be a great player so hopefully, when he does come back, he knuckles down and work hard.
“Once you get there, it’s about staying there and I think that was the difficult thing for him. He was a bit in and out but he never really showed enough to start every week.”
In other Rangers news, it can be REVEALED that the club are likely to accept a £12million bid for star.
