Rangers’ new transfer strategy could send them backwards after Celtic reveal
Rangers are set to target more Scots ahead of the upcoming summer transfer.
Fans of the Gers have been calling for the club to bring in more players from their homeland as they look to finally win the Scottish Premiership once more.
Now, The Scottish Sun on 18 May, has stated that Andrew Cavenagh has confirmed that this policy will now come in.
However, there is little evidence that this will result in a title, with Celtic rarely going down this path in recent seasons.
As a result, Rangers are at risk of remaining behind their Old Firm rivals for the near future.

VISIT THE RANGERS TRANSFER HUBCeltic have rarely dipped into the Scottish markets
Celtic have no doubt dominated Scottish football in recent seasons, and could once again complete a domestic double this campaign.
The club has now won five consecutive Scottish Premiership titles, with the club being untroubled in many of these campaigns.

Yet, throughout their last five title-winning campaigns, Celtic have rarely signed Scottish players.
The only noticeable Scottish player who has come in at Parkhead since Rangers won the league is Luke McCowan, who was brought in from Dundee in the 2024-25 campaign.
Therefore, there is no evidence that the Gers’ new strategy would even work, with the Hoops focusing on foreign talent instead.
As a result, they could be pushed further behind Celtic in the coming seasons, with their rivals’ transfer strategy clearly effective.
Who are Rangers linked to ahead of the summer transfer window?
Football Insider has exclusively revealed that Rangers are eyeing a move for Luke Graham this summer transfer window.
The Dundee star had been excellent throughout the 2025-26 campaign and was key to keeping the side out of the relegation positions.
Graham has also attracted interest from Celtic, with both sides set to compete against one another for his signature.
The centre-back helped Falkirk to promotion from the Championship last season while out on loan, and has now emerged as one of the Scottish Premiership’s most promising defenders.
However, it remains to be seen if the Gers can get a deal over the line in the coming months as they look to finally get their hands on the title once more in the 2026-27 season.
