Rangers have confirmed the departure of the club’s former chief executive James Bisgrove, sources have told Football Insider

As per a Companies House submission on Wednesday (10 July), it has been revealed Bisgrove is no longer a Rangers director and his employment at Ibrox has now ended.

The 39-year-old has confirmed on his personal LinkedIn page he has joined Saudi Arabian club Al-Qadsiah as their new CEO.

Bisgrove said it’s a “great honour” to be joining the Middle Eastern side, who were promoted to the Saudi Pro League last season under the guidance of Real Madrid legend Michel.

The Englishman joined Rangers in 2019 as the club’s commercial and marketing director as they looked to tap into new revenue streams.

Bisgrove has now left the Scottish giants after only being appointed as CEO in July 2023 following the departure of managing director Stewart Robertson.

Rangers commercial revenue increased under James Bisgrove

Rangers have implemented an interim executive structure while they look to source Bisgrove’s replacement.

John Bennett has assumed the temporary role of executive chairman, with James Taylor, Nils Koppen, Creag Robertson and Karim Virani making up the rest of the executive team.

During Bisgrove’s time in Glasgow, he helped Rangers' commercial revenue grow from £8million in 2018 to a club-record high of almost £29million in 2022.

The former Ibrox chief was also a key figure behind the appointment of manager Philippe Clement last October after holding talks with the Belgian in London.

The Rangers boss is currently overseeing his first summer transfer window in charge of the club as he looks to revamp his squad ahead of next season.

The Glasgow giants have already secured seven signings this summer after Jefte, Clinton Nsiala, Mohamed Diomonde, Connor Barron, Liam Kelly and Hamza Igamane have all signed permanent deals, while Oscar Cortes’s loan was extended for a further year.
