Rangers plotting new Luke Graham move after deal was blocked
Luke Graham has emerged as a leading target for Rangers ahead of the summer transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
Danny Rohl’s side had eyed a move to sign the 22-year-old during the January window before his exit was blocked by Dundee, and they could now reignite their interest.
This comes after Rangers chairman Andrew Cavenagh spoke publicly about the club’s plans to prioritise signing Scottish players in a bid to refresh their squad.
As I revealed on the latest edition of Football Insider’s Transfer Insider podcast, Graham is seen as a key target as Rohl hopes to strengthen his defensive options.
A number of key positions in the squad are being assessed after their underwhelming third-placed finish, with upgrades targeted ahead of a busy transfer window for Rangers.

Football Insider first reported in February that Rangers are interested in signing Graham and had weighed up a move in January before backing off.
The centre-back’s performances for Dundee this season have placed him high on the club’s shortlist and there is now a feeling they could reignite their interest.

Despite what was a disappointing end to the season for Rohl’s side, they are making ambitions plans for the summer and hope to strengthen their squad.
Speaking on the Transfer Insider podcast, I explained: “Luke Graham is a player that has been on the radar for Rangers for a while now.
“They considered a potential move in January, but didn’t follow that up and nothing came of it.
“It’s an area of the team that probably Rangers will look to strengthen in the summer window because they are probably a bit short at centre-back.
“It won’t be a straightforward one for Rangers to do because there’s a lot of interest in the 22-year-old centre-back.
“But he’s got huge potential and could be somebody who would definitely improve their squad.”
Which other players could be part of Rangers’ Scottish overhaul?
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider last month that Rangers want to sign the best Scottish talent as they aim to add to their squad.
Cavenagh has since confirmed the club’s transfer plans will have a “pro-Scottish and SPFL bias” as they hope to land more players with experience in the Premiership.
Graham would tick a number of boxes in that respect, while Rangers have also been linked with other Scottish talents ahead of the summer window.
Some of Scotland’s most talented young players including the likes of David Watson, Luca Stephenson and Elliot Watt have all been discussed in connection to Rangers.
Meanwhile, they have been impressed with Findlay Curtis’ development since his loan move at Kilmarnock and he looks likely to play an improved role at Ibrox.
