The transfer window has been open for only a couple of days and already Rangers are in full swing with three captures under their belt – and it does not look like slowing down any time soon.
The Light Blues have seen three faces – both new names and recognisable faces – through the door at Ibrox, with Scott Arfield and Allan McGregor followed by Jamie Murphy, who has been on loan with the Gers this season, in putting pen to paper over permanent moves.
Their business is all coming before new boss Steven Gerrard takes his post as manager at the start of June, in what many of the Rangers faithful will be hoping is a new chapter for their club.
With a goalkeeper, a midfielder and attacker already signed up, the next logical step is for the Bears to pounce on a defender, and they may well be onto the signing of their summer if a journalist is to be believed.
The Yorkshire Evening Post’s chief football reporter Phil Hay has claimed on his personal Twitter account that recently-relegated Premier League side Swansea City are willing to sell defensive colossus Kyle Bartley after he announced his intentions to leave, and that the Gers are keen in taking him to Ibrox.
Kyle Bartley latest – has indicated to Swansea that he wants to leave. Swansea prepared to sell at the right price. Leeds first choice for him. Rangers also keen. #lufc

It states that the centre back, who stands on the brink of a massive 6’4″, would prefer a move to Leeds United, where he spent time on loan, but with Gerrard coming in, the Light Blues should have little trouble in convincing him a move north of the border is best for him.
He is a proven talent in England, and with the new boss looking like he will have some serious issues at the back – David Bates leaving and the unreliable Bruno Alves and Fabio Cardoso – he would not just be a step up from the current options, but possibly three or four levels ahead.
A new centre back is an absolute must and capturing Bartley would be a huge statement of intent – and possibly be the best signing all season.
In other Rangers transfer news, the club are in pursuit of a central talent who could break Celtic’s Scott Brown.
