Confirmed: Rangers complete second summer signing
By Harvey Byrne
Rangers confirmed their second summer signing on Thursday afternoon in the form of ex-Aberdeen captain Ryan Jack.
The 25-year-old has long been linked with a move to Glasgow and the Ibrox giants announced on their official website on June 1 that the 25-year-old has signed a three-year deal at the club after his contract expired at the Dons.
Jack now follows veteran defender Bruno Alves through the doors at the prestigious Scottish side as manager Pedro Caixinha looks to overhaul his squad in his first window at the club.
The central midfielder was one of the bright stars in Derek McInnes’ successful Aberdeen team last season and he played 26 times in the Premiership as the Dons finished runners-up to the unbeaten Celtic.
Rangers were then left trailing Aberdeen by nine points in third place and Caixinha is now looking for players like Alves and Jack, who he feels can improve on the placing from the last campaign.

It has been stated by the Scottish Sun that talks between Rangers and Norwich are still continuing for midfielder Graham Dorrans and that the Ibrox club are confident a deal can be struck for him.
Meanwhile, Benfica duo Daniel Candeias and Dalcio are firmly in Caixinha’s eyesight and Rangers are also confident they can secure Setubal defender Fabio Cardoso despite links with Championship club Wolves.
Football Insider verdict:
The signing of Jack is a fantastic piece of business for Rangers and also a major coup. Not only are the club strengthening their own side, but they’re also weakening a divisional rival for no cost other than wages and a signing on fee, which will go to the player. Jack has proven at Aberdeen that he can perform to a very high level in the Scottish Premiership and this signing will surely leave Rangers supporters excited alongside the purchase of veteran defender Bruno Alves on Wednesday.
